New Grade of Graphite New Grade of Graphite Engineered for High Metal Removal, good Surface Finish Although electrical discharge machining (EDM) is under pressure from high-speed milling and rapid prototyping techniques as a machining process for the future, Tokai Carbon, and particularly it's Fine Carbon division, believes that EDM has strong prospects and will be able to contribute to improvements in machining efficiency that will enable European toolmakers to compete globally.This is why the graphite products manufacturer is introducing HK-20 graphite, an economical new high-performance grade for EDM. Tokai Carbon feels that what is needed to support the industry in difficult times is continuing innovation in processing materials, which has always been the company's focus. Hk-20 graphite offers a high metal removal rate yet is also able to achieve excellent surface finishes. The new grade compliments the existing HK range of products, which includes graphites for a wide variety of EDM and high-temperature applications. New Company, new challenge The Tokai Carbon Group hereby announce the merging of TCUK (Tokai Carbon UK) and TCE (Tokai Carbon Europe). These changes took effect from the 1st October 2003. The new entity will be known as Tokai Carbon Europe. Both with seperate sites in the UK, they will now consolidate into the Oldbury premises. These changes will in no way effect any commercial arrangements or transactions that exist between both companies and their respective vendors and customers. This measure is mainly a consolidation of the finance and administration departments. We thank you for your continuing support and through these measures we will strive to continually improve the quality of service we offer.
